We are saddened to have to announce the news that our own Bruce Miller (grayghost666) has passed away. Bruce had been fighting for several years against cancer as many of you who knew him well on the site probably know. Bruce headed up the campaigns section on Model Shipwrights since 2011. He joined KitMaker in 2007 and, as many will attest, did his best to make the community a better place.
We have as yet no details about a service or memorial, but will update this thread as such information may come in.

On a personal note I am very proud to have had such a fine person as Bruce on staff. By passing away, he is joining a small but distinct group of modelers who all have put something of themselves into our sites to make them better for it. I have assured Bruce prior to his passing that his account and status as a subscriber will remain as long as this site is around.

I hope you can add any remembrances or stories you may have in the past with Bruce so that we will never forget him.

Sincerely,

Jim Starkweather

I am deeply saddened to hear of Bruce passing away. He e-mailed me shortly before his passing and told me what was going on in his life. He had become a modeling buddy of mine and I am proud to have been able to call him my friend. A few years back I was wanting someone to run a campaign on Model Shipwrights that dealt with ironclad ships. Nobody was interested in running one and Bruce helped convince me to run one. He Helped me all through the campaign which ended up running for approximately two years!! He commented on how it had to be the longest running campaign in Kitmaker's history!! Several times during the course of the campaign it got to where there was no activity for weeks on end and I wanted to end the campaign. Bruce would contact me and convince me to let it keep going for a little longer.......which I did. And the campaign ended successfully. I really appreciated Bruce's encouragement to keep the campaign going. Not giving up and continuing on was very obviously Bruce's view on everything. He would contact me about other campaign ideas and entries and about helping out other modelers. He was a great guy with a big heart. Bruce was definitely a benefit to the modeling community and to this site and he will be greatly missed. My condolences and best wishes to his family. Rest in Peace Bruce. Randy
