AMPS (The Armor Modeling and Preservation Society) will be holding it's eighth annual National Convention. It will be held at the same location as last year, the Havre de Grace Community Center, on April 19-20, 2002.
The Theme
The theme for AMPS 2002 will be "Desert Warfare". At this point, that would include any modern vehicle (post 1899) with markings for one used in a desert conflict, or diorama set in the desert (1899 to the present).

Seminars
A show schedule will be posted approximately 30 days before the show. Last year's seminars included:

Tom Gannon on US Armored Vehicles in Foreign Service
Tom Jentz on Krupp Export Vehicles
Ron Volstad on Research and Painting
Bob Oehler on Six Ways to Zimmerit
Steve Zaloga on 1/35 modeling
Lynn Kessler on Groundwork for bases and dioramas
Stump the Stars

Entry Fees
(Note - These fees may change before the show date. Check back here just before the show)

Walk-in fees are $5 for one day or $8 for both days. Entry fees are the same as last year, $20 for non-AMPS members, $15 for members. The entry fee includes a raffle ticket and up to three models. Additional raffle tickets are $0.50 each. Additional model entries cost $1.00 per model for four to seven, and then $2.00 per model over that. However, the maximum number of models that can be entered by one person may have to be limited due to space considerations, and only one award is presented per modeler in each category entered.
