Once again a large list of Osprey releases this month. It is worth noting that the closer we get to the 60th anniversary of the D-Day landings, the more books there seem to be on Normandy.....
Continuing with the 'D-Day' theme, the first of the new releases takes a slightly different approach to the subject...

The D-Day Companion is written by 12 different military historians. Doubtless to get as wide a view on the subject as possible, this promises to be an accessible book on a complex subject.

Cassino 1944 Number 134 in the 'Campaign' series, documents the brutal Cassino campaign which culminated in the capture of Rome.

The German Army in World War One (2) is Number 407 in the 'Men-At-Arms' series. This second volume covers the organisation, uniforms and insignia of the German Army during the Great War. Like the rest of the books in the series, this is of great value to figure modellers.

M18 Hellcat Tank Destroyer 1943-97 is Number 97 in the highly respected 'New Vanguard' series. Following a similar format to the previous books in the series, this book should serve as a useful 'primer' in the subject.

Twelve to One - V Fighter Command Aces of the Pacific. Published within the 'Aircraft of the Aces' series, Number 61, takes an overview of Pacific fighter combat. Both Bong and McGuire were part of the 5th Fighter Command and part of the book looks at the development of 'in-theater' fighter tactics.

Also published this month are:

The Spanish Invasion of Mexico 1519-21 (Essential Histories 60)

Warriors at the Little Big Horn 1876 (Men-At-Arms 408)

The Napoleonic Wars: The Rise And Fall Of An Empire (Essential Histories Special)
