Matho Models PVC Foam Board
This is NOT a paper coated foam board, but a Expanded PVC product. Expanded meaning that it does have small voids/bubbles in it to create a much lighter product than if it was solid PVC.

Test
With that, there are voids in it similar to Mathos Model Foam Board HD, but paint works well at filling it in.

It carves/embosses harder than the foam board HD since it is a plastic product. You'll need to use carving tools or something strong, Paper clips took quite a bit of force, and wanted to bend.

Any paint I tried seems to have stuck pretty well given that it's a plastic.
SUMMARY
Highs: Lightweight
Lows: a bit harder to emboss (but not surprising)
Verdict: A good option for larger structures that need a solid base/skeleton for structure, but still not difficult to detail.
