Crew stowage space on military fighting vehicles has always been limited, and as a result, vehicle crews use external storage racks to carry their gear, which of course exposes them to the elements. Today, troops from the USA and other nations often use storage trunks made of plastics or polymer to keep their gear better protected.
MR Modell recently released these two sets of modern storage cases and insulated food carriers in 1/35 scale. Items come in MR Modellbau’s usual zip lock bags. Each set contains four multi-purpose box type containers or cases and one insulated food carrier of the kind normally manufactured from polypropylene or similar. For the food carrier, two sprues with feet and handles are provided. All parts are cast in tan/cream resin with a small carrier attached as can be seen in the accompanying photos.
The quality of the casting seemed to me to be top-notch with no air bubbles or blemishes in the resin. Although a small instruction sheet is included, there is no guidance on any paint schemes or suggested markings. These are versatile sets for adding stowage to any number of present-day vehicles and providing detail for dioramas.
