Yesterday myself and Holdfast had a day out at the first Washington Model Show.
Congratulations to everyone involved on hosting a great show.We can certainly recommend a visit there next year.
Icing on the cake..1st and 2nd places for my Tamiya P-47's in the 1:72 Aircraft section of the competition.

Oddly enough,we both went home with the new Airfix Spitfire MKI kit,,,strange that,,LOL

Well done Nigel.
I can see by looking at those builds that you deserved it.
Nice one!

Yes a great day Nige

I do believe that the comp was fixed as Nige's Airfix 1/72 Tiger Moth wasn't placed.

I had started a review on the Airfix Mk 1 Spit but something has gone wrong with my flash card and the pics I took aren't playing. I'll try again tomorrow.

Well done Nige. Glad you had a good time, but you missed a good show at Duxford - maybe we can meet there Next year.

A bit of a shame only 8 Spits in the air at once. 5 merlin powered and 3 Griffon.

Thanks everyone
The face painting demonstration that was given really has inspired me to finish my Luftwaffe pilot. The guy made it look effortless, but then he has been painting figures for 15 years!
I'll be heading off to the local art supplies shop later this week for some oil paints, as Ive been totally converted from attemping to use acrylics for faces now.
Just the small matter of a 1:1 masking and paint job I have to get done first. It not as much fun painting a bathroom as it is building models
Shame I missed Legends again this year,,theres always something seems to crop up. I think next year I will just buy my ticket well in advance so I have to go!
Looking forward to meeting up with you guys at Aeroventure though!,,not long now.
Phil. We tossed the proverbial coin about doing the Airfix Spit review and Mal won.Good job really as I have a backlog of reviews I have to start getting through!

The Airfix Spitfire review will be delayed, I took the pics on the same flash card as my Duxford pics but the cards corrupted so I re took them today, after work. Luckily the pics that I took for Duxford had been saved at work so that Harry could us the period costumed people for his art.
