Hi Guys,

You got the Christmas Version so here's the New year one

I never did find a picture of the beast so at best it's a representation of a Mk VII of 2nd Battalion Scots Guards, 6th Guards Brigade.

Happy modelling in 2008.

Cheers

Al

Hi Guys,

It's getting as bad here as over on the Big A. Does no one reply to posts anymore? The words 'Why bother' spring to mind lol, lol.

Cheers

Al

I don't like just posting to say well done, what a great model, so thats why there's no reply from me, not a personal slight. Please do not say why bother, your work needs to be seen and appreciated.

Hows the pier coming along?

Andy

Hi Andy,

I post stuff to get feedback, it's my main reason for posting, people often see things I don't, have thoughts and ideas I don't think of. Yip, it's nice to get a that looks great, but it's not really the reason why I post as none of my stuff has yet reached it's final destination.

I'll give you an example. I'm not much of a figure painter, they are getting better but far from being great figures. I posted a couple of RM Commandos I've been working on, about 300 odd people viewed the post - two replied, one (no offense Murdo) commented that he liked the bucket and sand lol, lol, good of them both to reply but that doesn't really help my figure painting which was the reason I posted them in the first place.

I've learn't a fair amount in the last two years, some of it from reading stuff but a lot more from the feedback I've had from more experienced modellers. It might be selfish but that's the main reason I post.

Re the pier it's been on hold due to a house move and a slight diversion into engineering type vehicles, lol, lol. I'm doing some other boat stuff at the moment but it should lead me back to the pier. I have now got some additonal bits I need to finish offf some of the builds. I'm not in a big hurry, as A. there is a lot to do and B. I'm learning new stuff all the time that will help in the overall build I hope lol, lol and C. I'm not full orgaised in the new modelling space yet.

I also want to do a couple of small dios first to try out some of the many new products on the market that I know nothing about, practice some skills and get a bit more experience before I jump in and bodge it up lol, lol. A few water type experiments will also be required to get a feel for the materials I'll need to use and the best way to deal with them. I'd hate to get it all done and then cock it up with the water lol, lol.

Thanks for the feedback, hope you can see where I'm coming from on this one.

Cheers

Al

Been there --seen that ---1000 views --12 replies ....but I only put on pics so the 'apprentices ' ..can see how I work ...or how not to work
Like the beastie a lot Alan .......but don't usually say much 'cause most builds are 'bang-bangs' .......and I have drifted away from them -(too many Mk's for old grey cells to remember )....though I still look ,to see whats happening outside the "Force",and do appreciate the pics.
Will reply more often --(resolution )

Hi Steve,

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Apart from anything else, it makes the forums a bit more lively, nothing worse than posting to yourself lol, lol.

Have fun in 2008.

Cheers

Al
