Looney Toons indeed!
Well,,I have to say Im very impressed with Miracle Masks.
Once Id figured out the best way of using "transfer tape" it was easy. The masks adhere to the surface very well. If you look carefully over the lateral fin you'll see a couple of dots wrapped around the top edge. No problems at all.
Hardest part of the paint job will be making sure the individual serial number decals are evenly spaced. Shame you cant cut that small Mal.

Another lie down needed. I cant work with the model for long periods of time as it sends my eyesight funny,,

Nige

The title implies you had the plot once - I'm not sure that's the case.

Cant wait to see this beastie in the flesh.

Yes it is a pity that size matters, when it comes to cutting small letters and numbers. I can get down to about 6mm sometimes 4mm, depending on what it is. However I'm working on it and I do have a plan but, like most, it will cost me to try it out. Then I do have another plan that won't cost me nearly as much but I have to work out how I can use it.

Anyway Nige I am really chuffed with the way the star and bars have come out. I must admit to, at first, thinking that you had resorted to decals, now I can't wait to use them myself. I have a 1/32 P-47 on the go, just for that

Hi Mal.
Yep,,the stars and bars worked really well. I have also tried one of the ones I had left on an olive drab painted wing to see how I got on lifting and replacing bits of the mask and it worked fine.
I hope your able to work out a way of doing small serial numbers. Its a real pain having to buy a decal set. The one I bought only included1 #3 and 1 #1 in each number run...
122344 etc
If the number had been 24331 I would have had to buy two sets of decals which would have meant the serials would have cost me 7.50!! As it is each number equates to 37 1/2p, and a load of spares!
It was also a real pain in the posterior lining them up.
Oh well,,onto the Klear coats and hopefully I can get the washes on this tomorrow.

Well here she is finished.
384 BG Assembly Ship 42-3441 "The Spotted Cow"
Im planning on displaying it on a mirrored base, when I can get hold of some self adhesive mirror.
Ive been wanting to build this for a couple of years, but the method of masking the circles had always eluded me, although Id tried quite a few ideas over the months to see how I could do it.
However.Mal came to rescue with his masks, and Id like to publicly thank Mal for making the dots for me and donating the other masks to this project.
I hope I did the masks justice Mal.
Heres a couple of finished photos.

And now,,I think Im going for a long lie down somewhere away from dots! Any contact details for therapists please PM me
