Hi Kelly.
They were catapulted off the carriers and landed at forward bases in the pacific islands.
There was never any intention of landing back on the carriers so no arrestor hooks were fitted.

Looks like a delivery of new P-47N's. Not much weather protection when you compare it to photos of trans atlantic deliveries.

A deck full of 1:32 Trumpeter "N"s?,,I reckon theres about 1700 worth in that photo, without scratchbuilding the ship,,
