I've been looking forward to this one for a while now and Roy Sutherland has announced an anticipated release date of September.

This book, coupled with the excellent "Hell Hawks" will go a long way towards raising peoples awareness of the 365th FG and the work of the 9th in general.
Naturally, there will be decal releases from Barracuda timed to coincide with the books arrival, and the colourful P-47s of the 365th are bound to be popular.

9th Air Force group build anybody?

Nigel, this looks like a sweet book. Any more info on it? Decals would be nice too if Barracuda releases some.

Roy tells me it contains colour profiles for approximately a third of the P-47s used by the Hell Hawks during their time in the ETO.
As to how many will make it onto decal sheets thats up to Roy.
He visits the site so I'll let him tell you himself

Any word when this book might be released? It said September, but has the release date been pushed back?

Thanks,

The last I heard was that new information had come to light and the book was being revised to include this before being published.
I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.

Thanks for the update, Nigel. I can't wait for this to come out as it will be a welcome addition to go along with the other two books I have on the Hell Hawks.

Hi, all .
Here are the latest news: the book is nearly finished and should be around 300 pages.
It may go to the printers in October.

Can't wait !

Jean, dude, you have made my day. I really can't wait now! 300 pages, that will be awesome!

If it goes to the printers in October, any estimation after that when it might be out?

Great! It would be nice if it's ready so Roy can bring it to Telford.

My thoughts exactly, and with Roy hinting on HS today that there are "announcements regarding new publications in the next few days" we could well be in luck!

I can't wait! Autgraphed copy for myself. This is going to be an awesome reference to go with Charles Johnson's superb History of the Hell Hawks, and Robert Dorr's The Hell Hawks.

All I can say is that the 2 year wait was worth it!
What an excellent book!
