I'm really active in modeling when my model club is concered. I'm the chapter President, newsletter writer/editor, and am one of the ones who brings a newly completed kit to every third meeting. The only sad thing is that there are NO other female modelers around for many,many miles. I guess they feel too intimedated by all the guys in the hobby. Oh, well. Maybe one of these days.

Geographically and timewise, it's hard to get together frequently with my "nearby" modeling buddies because of work and distance, but we manage some field trips to hobby shops and contests. Finally joining IPMS after 30 years' building, and joing a local chapter just over an hour away from here. I'm not opposed to building with others cos I enjoy learning how the other half models, no matter what they build, even though most of the time I'm building in my crowded little workshop/office. :-)

I am going to be going to my first local club meeting this thursday, after I take my wife and daughter to star wars. I plan on doing more with others as I meet them. I have been tied down with some medical problems but will be hanging out with some pretty cool guys I met at the hobby town show I went to when I get better.

i belong to the minnesota military figure society and we meet once a month. we also have paint-ins once a month also. i like these because i can schmooze with other hobbyist and find out how they are doing. i appreciate this hobby that we do.
