Hello guys,

somehow I goofed a resin figure for the first time and i'm thinking to remove the current paint job.

The figure is assembled completed, has been primed with Vallejo Acrylic-Urethane Grey Primer and painted with Vallejo Acrylics (+Tamixa X21 for a flat finish).

Now I'm not quite sure, how to remove the paint without using any solvent based mixture that might let the figure fall apart the super glue is removed also.
I thought of using Vallejo Airbrush Cleaner.

Has anyone a good advice for?

I read about using oven cleaner, windex or some brake stuff but I'm a littlebit anxious to use it.

Thx in advance.

I use Pine-Sol, but that too might disolve the super glue.

I used oven cleaner number of times on resin figures and had no problems with it "eating" the superglue. I usually put the figure in a plastic bag, spray oven cleaner and leave it soak for couple of hours... after rinsing it under tap, most of the paint comes off easily.

Hope it helps,
Mario

Oven cleaner didn't work on my acrylic painted figures, but only on the enamel painted ones.
For acrylic i used ethanol.

Thx for your replies.

@Johan:
Will the ethanol remove / dissolve or do you have to remove it via brush.
How long does it take to remove the paint?

I removed it with cotton wool. It takes about 3 or 4 minutes for the flesh parts of a 1/48 figure.
