Just in time for Halloween, and prompted by the FSM article, I decided to get around to finishing this thing. This is the Revell re-release. It has-had, the same fit and gap issues of the old kit, I had to reconstruct the head so that it would fit correctly and get rid of the massive gaps that the parts created. I airbrushed it with base coats of medium green and marker yellow enamels and have began the shading process. I really like that classic "monster stance". As kid, when I first seen this movie, (back in the 60s) it scared the crap out of me. In fact one year, a cereal company put a cut out mask of this (along with other classic monsters) on its boxes, I had turn the box around so I could eat my cereal in peace....

Very cool indeed! One of my favorite 1950's science fiction movie, great work there. Russell

Shading complete, dull coat shot, ready to highlight. Yep, he fell off the painting stand and broke a nail. Now I need to do cosmetic surgery...bad joke.

He's getting a little closer to being complete. I think as far as painting he's done, now I just need to come-up with some sort of base for him. General Ursus has been getting some of my attention at the same time.
