Ok, now that I have my diorama planned, and the elements ordered; I panic. This whole "historically correct" part with photo or text correlation concerns me. Will a hypothetical scene with elements of units involved in the operation suffice? If not, I will drop back and punt with a new idea. I guess this really isn't a good time to clarify this, but...... Good luck all!

Hi Patrick

Hopefully you should be OK, because that's how I'm interpretting the rules...

I think the idea of submitting a passage of text and/or a photo is to ensure everyone does some research for RMG and to provide some historical back-up for every entry.

It's not a question of slavishly copying the scene described or, as I did, mistakenly looking for a photo (of aircraft, in my case) that contains all the elements required by the rules.

All the best, and good luck

Patrick,

You panic....YOU PANIC.....Y O U P A N I C. . . . hey.... there's absolutely no need for that at all, but I can understand your concern. It's time to spend some extra time on the matter you just brought up, since quite some people contacted me about this the last 24 hours .

In Campaign Rules and Regultation I wrote "The entry MUST deal with a part of Operation Market Garden and MUST be as historical accurate as possible".....

This was inserted in the rules to motivate people to do some research...to do some serious thinking about a modeling theme and about the actual operation. I might say it worked pretty well.... We've had plenty of questions on this matter the last couple of weeks.

But now the time has come to put books, videos and the internet pages aside and we want to start building. This is the time for me and all others, to go back to the initial purpose of Campaigns and/or Group Builds.....

Campaigns and/or Group Builds are there, as I see it, to provide Fun, Fiendship and the ability to learn something from eachother, while building on a special theme.... anybody who wants to be part of that, must be welcome. Some people searched and just couldn't find that particular scene they where looking for..... It can never be that those people can't join the Campaign because of that...... I had a real hard and good thinking on this matter and I decided to ease up on the "Historical Accurate" part. It served its purpose, people read about Market Garden, they really dug into the material, and that is what it was all about !

Concerning the things above, I decided to change the rules on the part of Historical Accuracy. The rules that read :

* The entry MUST deal with a part of Operation Market Garden and MUST be as historical accurate as possible. This accuracy must be proven with a picture/photo or a reference to a written document.
* In case there is a reference to a written document, the participant must provide the author, the title and the location in the document that refers to the entry.
* In case there is reference to a picture or a photo, the participant must provide a copy of this picture/photo with his entry

must be replaced with :

The entry MUST deal with a part of Operation Market Garden and MUST be as historical accurate as possible. We want it to be as historical accurate as possible, but this accuracy DOES NOT have to be proven with a picture/photo or a reference to a written document.

I will publish the altered rules and regulations on the Campaign page and I will notify people about it with a special post in the Campaign forum.

I trust this change of rules enables us all to continue our RMG battleplans and maybe it even attracts more people to the Campaign.

Gentleman.... Happy Building...I'm looking forward to your mission updates !!
