I have plus models human skeleton which by the way is a great little piece and am going to add it to my jungle vignette. I would like to pose it half submerged in water, no problem there but, here is were I am running into my problem. The lower half will be under the water, and I plan on using a helmet, leather belt and ammo pouches with the lower part of leather boots which I know would have algae growing on them. I will be using tissue for some un-rotted parts of the uniform. Would anyone know or have some type of reference as to the condition of the bones. Being deceased in the South Pacific for some time, would the submerged bones have any algae growing on them or would they be rather clean? Same for the upper part above water. Weeds and such would grow through the skeleton, but being in a very humid area would any type of moss or what ever grow on them. Goggling hasn't produced anything useful and I could make an assumption but would really like to be as accurate as possible. Thanks in advance for everyone who takes the time to read this and respond. bob d.

Hey Bob,
I'm certainly no expert on the subject but I would think that a body submerged in water long enough to have deteriorated to bone would indeed have all matter of organic materials growing/attached. Good question for a forensic detective!

Cheers,
C.

Hey Charles, first my appology for not getting back sooner. Had the flu for 2 weeks and then came down with severe Broncitus with has me down even more. Lost my internet while I was down so am at the library today catching up. Thanks for the answer on the skeleton, makes sence to me but just wanted to try to comply to what would be. I'll go with the submerged part with organic matter attatched and the portion out of the water pretty clean. Thanks once again. bob d.

Bob,
No problem on the reply time. We have the flu bouncing around the office here and it's a real back breaker! Just when you start to feel better it comes back 10 fold.
Please post some photos as you build this piece up...I'd love to see it 'in progress'

Cheers,
C.
