BBailey;

I'm not claiming that it is THE BEST (1943 or earlier) -34, but the 34/76 mod. 1941 (Dragon 6205) certainly is a GOOD -34 kit. No MagicTracks, but the right hull with most of the accurate features for the type and period, and that rear vent PE and the hole in the deck for same both have the same shape...! A plus, seeing as most of the Dragon 34 kits have a sad mismatch of parts back there, with the PE grill being usually the correct squared form, but the hole rounded (or maybe I have it reversed?).

Of course, 6205 can use a few tweaks, but then probably every kit can...

Another very nice -34 is the Dragon T34/76 German Army kit 6185. It is actually the 6205 kit, with some added parts - a metal barrel, and some bits such as a new cupola and turret roof and some tools - to make it a beute 34. You can build the 6205 Russian version right from the 6185 kit, or go German.

Just my opine, of course.

Welcome everyone! This is shaping up into a nice campaign

BBailey - my 2 cents: get a HobbyBoss t34 in 1/48 scale for under $20 with engine and full interior/pe which is a scaled down version of Trumpeters 1/16 kit. Check eBay. There's even the 41' and 43' model lot for $30.

I am still trying to decide what kit to get...at the moment it will be a kv or t-34 and Bob mentioning the German t-34 available reminded me to ask if building a captured vehicle is acceptable for the campaign?

Also Greg, nice tip regarding the 1/48 kits from hobbyboss, will definitely check those out!

I let a captured js2 in earlier in the orig thread so yes. But be sure to give it back to Stalin after the campaign

Fyi there is another campaign for captured vehicles. I'm doing a German t34 for that one, and the su76i for this campaign

Hi Greg, there is an ASU 57 in the stash waiting to get built. I know, not the best kit i could choose, but still an unusual and interesting subject. It went into production in 49 so i think its ok.

Hi Greg and thanks for the advertising of my "waste not want not" campaign. I'll repay for that at the first chance I get .

Any thoughts??

Folks maybe should be glad the old sod didn't! Imagine what sort of e-mails the definitive paranoid monster would have sent! There would have been dead computers just everywhere It would have been fry-by-wire!

Signed in, sounds interesting and I already have two kits in the stash which comply. I realy can not decide which one to build, so I put it out for popular vote, which one should it be:

I think I'll be joining this one as well, have some 1/72 scale kits that I'd like to build.

Kind regards, Sven.

Naseby - I like the look of both, but if it were me I would start with the BT-7A. Always liked the look of those myself.

I have a choice to make too, quite a few possibilities..
Dragon - T-34/76 Hex turret - #6424
Dragon - T-34/76 in German service - #6185
Trump - ISU-152 (late) - #05568

I also have a 1/72 KV-1 (trump) on the way to test out some weathering products...

Decisions decisions....

Leaning towards the hex turret T-34 as I want a finished T-34 in my collection.
Anyone got anything good/bad to report about that kit? (Yes I have read reviews but I also like the brief reviews from individuals)

I like the Su-76, such an archetypal Soviet AFV - simple, rugged, effective.

Thanks to the 50% rule, I am hoping this is eligable, its the Dragon T-34/76 in 1/72, a cracking little kit that I can't for the life of me figure out why I never finished once I started it!

Hopefully it will be a quick and painless build, and a nice break from my F-16 production line

Spent most of last night hitting the reference books and I found a different paint job for my IS-2, which will make a change from the 4BO with white roof cross which seems to be the standard!

Can't wait to start.
