Ok folks, time to rev up this side of the business !

In celebration of the recent release of 2 new books co-authored by Peter Randall and our own Nigel Julian (Lampie), I would like to propose a 56th Fighter Group or Zemke's Wolfpack dedicated Group Build.

I am leaning towards a 12 month duration with a start date in the next couple of months.

Standard rules and regulations for Aussiereg Group Builds apply, please see below:

1. Any scale, it just has to be a P-47 with 56th FG markings
2. Hangar Queens are welcome, because they belong on the shelf, not hidden away in a box!
3. Build can be OOB, or use as much AM as you like.
4. Build as many kits as you wish, but only 1 ribbon will be awarded per person.
5. Minimum of 2 progress shots must be posted in the official campaign thread plus a minimum of one shot of the completed build in the campaign gallery. Please feel free to set up your own Build Log thread as well.
6. Dioramas welcome but not required.
7. Most important rules of any AussieReg Campaign, have fun, enjoy your build, share your progress with us all.

Any takers?

Cheers, D

Hanger Queens you say?

I have one that has sat for a couple of years waiting for decals included in the AJ Press book.

Count me in

Andy, there are just so many options available now, and the timing is perfect.

Nige, I was hoping this might drag you back to the bench mate!

Good to see some movement here!

Count me in for a 56th FG build as well, probably one from Nigel's new book, which is excellent!!!

All the best

Howdy Y'all
I'm a slow builder but I'd love to have a P-47 on my shelf. I'm in.
Thanks,

Darren, how did I know that you would put your hand up for this one?

Don, great to have you on board! It's fine to be a slow builder (just ask Nige), I will run this one for 12 months.

I will post a link to this thread on Aeroscale Campaigns forum tonight to see if we can't stir up a few more "Jugheads."

Damian, I'm planning to build a Tamiya P-47 M towards the end of this year. So this campaign would fit perfectly in my plans. What is the time frame or starting point?

Happy modelling!

Howdy Y'all
I was wondering about how many modelers do we need to kick off the campaign? I know this is not one of the more popular forums so is there a possibility of requiring less modelers to sign up?
Thanks,

Richard, Torsten, thanks for your interest.

Don, I totally agree. We will be running for 12 months and no doubt will pick up a few more builders along the journey.

I will get a Group Build page set up soon and let you all know. As for the time frame, how does a December 1 start date sound to everybody?

Cheers, D

Posting from deep in the background here I'm afraid, but a few thoughts.

I'd like to see this as a full on Aeroscale campaign.
Running a start up business totally took over from my running this site a couple of years ago, hence lack of content.
It's been way too long since I got stuck into some plastic butchering.

Couple the work load with a house move and a family bereavement which means the next few months are going to be incredibly complex, means I haven't any time to devote to anything plastic related.

I can understand Lampie's busy schedule. I'm going to be spending some time looking for a new job, hopefully. I'm game for December 1 but perhaps January 1 would be a good idea also.
Thanks,
Don "Lakota"

Nige, really sorry to hear of your bad news mate, my thoughts are with you now.

Ok folks, how about we try to get this driving a bit harder as Nige suggested as an Aeroscale Campaign? I will bump the thread there and PM MichaelSatin with the possible January 1 start date to check for availability there.

Cheers, D

Damian,
I've got not one but two Tamiya 1/48 scale Jugs I've been trying to get around to building. One has been started with just the interior cockpit parts having some basic paint AB'd on them. So as long as Shelf Queens are allowed, I'm in. I would prefer this to be a official Aeroscale campaign, as I really think you'd get more of the membership joining in then.

Hi Joel.

I have started a thread on the Aeroscale Campaigns page HERE with a few additional guidelines. It would be great to have you on board!

Hope everyone is well in 2016!

Plan to get underway with my 56th FG project this week.

As usual it will be the 1/48 Tamiya kit (razorback) and I will choose a scheme from Nigel's newish book on the 56th FG.

Hope to see other projects started soon as well!

To possibly motivate everyone I will post some of my latest P47's on the site in the next few days - I have been slack and not posted for sometime.......

thanks to Damian & Nigel for hanging in there as well!

Happy P47 Modelling
Darren
