Hello,

Did some post-shading. Put on a blue filter.

I've just put on a gloss coat and will be doing the wash by tomorrow.

Cheers.

Airbrushing done! Now final assembly, and more painting, decals and weathering! Not sure if I want to use the kit-supplied decals, or go all out with stencils and the airbrush. It might come down to time.

Working on the JEEP right now. Does anyone know offhand the I.D. of the tie down hubs for the M151A2?

Decals on and finished. I will be using it in a dio I am building with my Horsa Glider. It is clean as it will be newly unloaded after landing.

It was an Italari kit with parts from Broncos jeep and after market decals for an airborne jeep.

Will post a pic in Gallery shortly.

Cheers Mike for a cool campaign.

Thanks Dustin. I now realized that the deadline is nearer than I first thought, so I'd better get crackin' on this one!

Hello,

First coat on. As I've chosen to do a monochrome scheme, the challenge ahead is on the use of different shades to depict depth

Cleaned up more parts and checked their fitment. Got another coat on the tires as well.

Great looking builds so far guys.

Primer coat on. I forgot to sand the seam in three wheels so I didn't paint them yet.

Delbert,
Speaking of the ambulance jeep; did I see that Dragon was releasing a kit of the same style ambulance jeep? Maybe from the Shizouku show?

Cheers,
Rick

FWIW Italeri has one as well:

Tat - Once I enlisted I seen how much time was left! So I jumped right on this. Almost done with assembly and then I'll shoot a primer coat on it. Painting should go smoothly. I'll make this one a quick job.

Dustin

Well once I started this kit I realized it was not as good as I hoped. I checked the production date on the sprue and found it was from 1972 so it may have been good for its time. I will try and find the later Willys Jeep that Taimya built, from what I read it is a pretty decent kit. I fleshed out the engine compartment a little to make it a little busier, but I now think I may just glue the hood/bonnet down and get it finished by concentrating in the exterior.

Here is a photo of the markings I am thinking of using.

Looking good Tat.

I was going to inquire and ask if I may join with this. Only work that has been done is axles under the frame and starts of the engine sat in.

Thanks,
Dustin

Thanks Dustin. Shot primer on the tarp and am 50-50 on how it looked. Anyways will see how it goes.

I've passed on that Tamiya kit a couple times at the LHS and by the time I wanted to buy, it was gone!

Plenty of time left, good luck to your project!

That looks in the vicinity of 25% to me Dustin. I'd say go for it!

Hello,

Nice builds guys, and congrats to all finishers at this point!

As usual mine's running a bit late, but I believe I can make it across the finish line.

My kubel's tarp looked too plain so I thought of sprucing it up with styrene rods and paper+white glue:

Put up the windscreen, side windows, mirrors. Got it all masked up and ready to shoot some paint tomorrow.

Cheers,

Tat

Ok thanks Michael

Rick... Love the ambulance Jeep, I have some photos of one on my website from an event, and I think one of those may be my next jeep project..

Sal I like the light weathering you have done on yours.

G.Houle I really like the shading you have done on yours.

Damian, my what a colorful Jeep and BIG radio you have.. LOL

Paweł can't say anything but Wow.. your model looks better then the photos of the actual vehicles I have.. he he...

I see there are more to come and I will be watching... now here is my update....

I took this photo with no flash using day lighting to give a better view of the colors..

I've weathered it up with some AK Interactive Dust Effects and some Dust pigments. I think I have it toned down to a more military look.. the pigments are a little heavy in places but will be toned down more when I spray my flat coat on..

I am going for a dusty look of a vehicle thats been out the field being used as a Jeep... LOL
