Hi All,

I have run in to a block. I have 4 figures set in the Second Seminole War area. Can anyone give me tips as to hope I should go about the groundwork and setting. Ive looked at pics there are a few paintings out there.

Where does everyone get their ideas, how do you know THATS IT, and you go with THAT. If you dont go off a picture, how do you THAT'S too much or THAT'S not enough. How do you decide on the size of the base?

Thanks for the help

Mark

Hi Mark

How to compose the vignette depends on the figures. Are they at rest? are they in combat action? are they dead? etc. etc.
There isn't a set formula as to how large the base needs to be. Of course the figures shouldn't be cramped together with arms and weapons stickin out to all sides of the base, nor should they be souronded by an endless field of groundwork. Try to deside how you want the figures to stand, just on a table, then cut a piece of paper or cardboard and place the figures on it. How does that look? are there enough space around the figure or perhaps to much. Make a smaller or bigger piece of paper/cardboard until it looks/feels right to you. then you can find a more suitable base e.g. wood.

If you post an image of the figures perhaps we can give you some ideas.

Hi Mark,

well, it's very subjecticve to know how organising a vignette and as Jesper wrote it, it depends a lot of what you want to suggest.

What i just can advise to you, is, if it's your first vignette, keep something quite simple, if you don't, you may be discouraged by the task and the failures (we all failed....and we will again).

cheers
