I had fun with the build of my Challenger 1, however the weathering kicked me in the butt. My dull coat frosted, guess it was a little too humid that day, and I tried to fix it with a another gloss coat. It did take away the frosting but left me with a bumpy finish that I am not happy with. Anyway I completed the kit, but I think that I am going to strip it back to plastic and start over.

Hi Ángel, maybe you can add some dust and maybe mud (depends of the place), with hard pastels sticks or "Ak" or "Ammo" pigments.
Also, add some metal shine to the plates borders, with a pencil.

This is my entrance for the Tamiya campaign.

At the present time I am using Armorama's campaigns to improve my painting skills.

I would appreciate any feedback on the weathering. I simply used a mix of Tamiya's buff and flat earth. It was firstly applied very diluted with Isopropyl alcohol with the airbrush and later that mix was further diluted with water and applied by brush. In order to homoginize the look I finally airbrushed the diluted mix with water.

From the many photos I studied of the Sd.Kfz.222 I saw that many lacked the german crosses and other markings except the license plate number and a german cross in the back.

Best regards,
Angel

ok fellas, extended until Friday just for those who need to finish it, no new entries.

ENDS: November 4th, 2016

Had to put the OT-55 on hold seeing as I misplaced some parts, that I just can't seem to find. I have been building a M551 in it's place, which is about 90%. Will this one count?

Hi,

Nice looking with your works, Tat and Antonio.
My stuff was molded in 1982 and re-molded in 2013. What a simple kit!

The outer officer and the two headlight lenses were borrowed from other kits. Need a base in future.

On time. Thanks you all for the campaign.
Regards,
K.

Thanks K. Congrats! I like the way you finished the canvas top.

Nice combo you have there Jason!

Cheers,

Tat

I have my kit with the base coat and the details painted.

Now I need to do the weathering. Will try to finish tomorrow.

Is there any chance of getting a few more days?

Thanks in advance,
Angel

I came to this campaign late with only 2 weeks left before the deadline. My work and social life has been hectic of late and I wasn't sure that I would get her done in time. I got her finished a couple of days ago, but am only now able to sort out my issues uploading pics.

Build is OOTB with the singular addition of the engine kit. For what its worth, here she is...

Before building - build contents

Progress pic - Assembly 80%, interior painting begun

Finished build - rear shot, showing engine detail

Finished build - from front
