It's officially less that 100 days before the AMPS 2017 International Show (April 20-22) in Danbury, CT kicks off. In the meantime, various show committee teams are busy slugging away to provide the greatest gathering of armor model subject on display for 2017, to include top-notch seminars and an assortment of vendors who would like to help you whittle down your 'want' list. So, here's the latest update on important show preparations:

Hotel registration - As of January 9th, there are approximately 50 rooms left at the AMPS special rate of 99.00 per night. When they're gone, rooms at the hotel will still be available, but not at the AMPS special show price. Register for that hotel room on-line to get the deal with the link on the AMPS homepage to make your reservations.

Vendors - So far, 85 vendor tables are committed to attending the show with more on the way. Here is the current list of vendors committed to attending: Ammo of MIG, Armand Bayardi, Boomer Books, Rick Carlile, Challenger N Scale, CRM Hobbies, David Doyle, Fire House Hobbies, For the Historian, Hobby Fan, Horner's Hobbies, Last Cavalry, Micro World Games, Monroe Purdue, Red Frog Hobbies, Scenic Factory, Sentinel Miniatures, S&J Hobbies, Nader Taheri, Tiger Productions and Wanamaker Models. This is shaping up to be the largest weekend supermarket for all things armor modeling so be prepared to shop till you drop while you give your wallet a major workout.

Seminar topics – Currently Neil Stokes is hard at work nailing down some seminar topics and presenters. As of early January, here's what some of the topics include for the AMPS 2017 show with more to follow:

Chris Lloyd-Staples: Basic Modeling Techniques
Steve Zaloga: Advanced Modeling Techniques
Cookie Sewell: Major Conversions and Scratchbuilds
Neil Stokes: The First Middle East Armor Battles: 1917

Sponsorships - There is still an opportunity to help support various model categories by co-sponsoring one or more. Visit the AMPS homepage to see which categories still need sponsors.

Elections - AMPS members, here's your opportunity to vote for individuals to fill crucial offices. Nominations are open from 09-January - 28-February 2017 and voting is from 01-March through 15-March with the results being posted 16-March. Visit the AMPS homepage at amps-armor.org for the list of candidates and instructions for self-nominations or nominating others not on the list of current candidates. .
