Hi,I have been making aircraft models since I was six years old,and now some forty years later I think its time for a change.I do not use an airbrush or weathering products and build strictly out of the box.I dont enter comps as I model to relax,not that they are good enough to enter comps anyway.

Hi there! I uh....well hell, I guess I go both ways here. I enjoy doing planes (WW2 and modern 1/72 mostly) but when I need to get dirty, I draw from the (sizable) pile o'kits and select some armor.

I think you'll learn some new techniques that will carry over well to your planes, and just the opposite for the armor. You'll find yourself quickly going for the detail, and that's what makes it great.

To get your feet (really) wet, I'd recommend one of the new Meng kits with the interior. As an aircraft builder you'll be familiar with the assembly stages and all of the pre-painting, and you'll get to put it all together and then play with your weathering.

Kits nowadays are really decent out of the box. As for airbrush or weathering, it is a whole new world and you may try it as well, it adds fun and often you can be surprised of how much you can do
