Hi everyone!
I am making progress but it has been slower than hoped. This is the Dragon DAK pz.bef.wg.III ausf. H. Construction ~80-90% complete. I still have a lot of detail work plus paint. I am scrambling as much as possible but the deadline grows near.
How do I balance a summer with kids, camping, and fishing, yet still make room for hobby time? I am glad to have such problems.

Strong work everyone.

Excellent Bryan. A really unusual version to see modelled. It's coming together well.

Brian,
That looks great! That's one version of a panzer that you can cover the read deck with gear.

Hi everyone. I am in, for the first time. Late entry but I will catch up. My model just came so - let’s start.

Bryan,
Great looking model, hope you finish. Did the box on back of the tank come in the kit? I've been looking for something similar.
I have the same summer problems. Living the dream, I'll try to get some bench time in today.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

Hi Don,
Yes the kit came with the storage box. It is Dragon Kit 6901. Great kit, more time consuming than the Tamiya kits I’m used to.

Howdy Y'all
@Bryan-Thanks for the info. I've searched e-Bay for such a box but have not been successful.
It looks like I'm not going to finish the diorama I wanted to build. I did finish a couple of figures:

I will post some better photos after I mount Rommel and an aide on a base.

Take care,
Don "Lakota"

Hi Guys, WIP update. Rough outline on my display base. First time working with pink foam as the base, made some outcropping with plaster moldings. As always trying some new material and techniques

Just saw this . It's a very interesting scene. I really like Italian WWII Armor and not many people build it. Nice work.

Hey everyone,
It's time for me to smash through my second kit for the build. The Miniart Valentine:

This will be my first ever attempt at a destroyed tank. My inspiration is this photo:

It looks as if a single round has been hit, and flamed upo inside the tank, scorching the side of the turret. The ammo was stored vertically in a circle around the base of the turret.

Today I did a lot of gluing.

I learned something very important about indy link tracks. namely to start at the drive sprocket. Not anywhere else.

In my research of the Valentine, I saw a lot of photos of them destroyed in the USSR. I didn't want to do the tracks just rolled out in a straight line behind the tank. So, I used the imagery from a destroyed Russian machine to do my tracks like this:

Only 18 days to go... Gotta get her done.

Very long slow slog with this. Finally has a primer coat on. Will put a base of light stone No. 61 to start with. One problem is that the kit decals don't correspond to any of the units listed for the time period. Not sure what I'll do about that.

Chris,
Your Valentine looks great! When in doubt, don't tell Peter. I wouldn't have known as long as you didn't have the Czech markings. I think there was a Czech tank unit in Syria with them.

When all else fails, there is masking and painting your own.

Mum's the word!
Ssssshhhh!

Thanks all. The camera is a cruel mistress, just noticed the flash on the road wheels and the seam/gap on the turret front Make those repairs and drive on with painting.

A final push to get this done. Base coat of light stone no. 61 and added a disruptive pattern. While I was doing this build I came across an old shelf queen with a bad paint job. As luck would have it, it falls into the time period of this campaign. Managed to strip the paint and primer to the bare plastic and not break anything. Just needs another paint job.

Chris,
Those both look fantastic! I need to mix some of that stone color for my Valentine, too.
