Typical my luck stuff ... I was just getting geared up to convert an old Tamyia kit for a Canadian Army Throphy tank.

I've been thinking and prepping on it for years - maybe this is a sign I need to wait on this one.

there actually was an Artic camo pint job used in tests in Alaska. There were some nice hi-rez photos of it, but have not seen one in 35 years.

Wayne,
The M1s in 1st Cavalry and 2nd Armored Divisions at Fort Hood Texas wore MERDC temperate(?)four color camouflage scheme, as seen on the box art for the old Tamiya M1 Kit. The M1s at Fort Knox's training units used a modified MERDC scheme using three colors of Dark Green, Light Green patches with black "spiders".

Some Germany based units (3ID & 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment) did use some exercise camo schemes with mud applied to the factory Forest Green paint.

Buy a couple of the same kits.

Sometimes its best to have fun with a build. A old Tamiya 105mm M1 kit I picked up at a garage sale for $5.

I always wanted to do a M1 in MERDC, so this one was it. Is it accurate? no, but who cares turned out kickass as far as I am concerned.

If anyone needs some reference photos there is one on display here at Fort Carson. Painted solid green but it's an early M1.

It looks pretty nice. I will be getting one to go with the original Tamiya M2 Bradley.

I could be wrong, but the mantllet doesn't look quite right. Shouldn't the top bracket thingy be just a straight piece of metal, as opposed to the bent or dog bone shape on the kit?

Wrong bracket on top of the mantlet. Only the flat one is correct for this version of M1. Showing both as options in instructions is Panda's error.

Also the gunner's sight doors don't open this wide. They should point directly forward when open.

Luckymodel has it for $36, $12 shipping to the US. All I have to do is add a bustle rack to make one of mine.

no need for AM tracks after all. kit tracks are workable

so, it's here and looks pretty good. in overall appearance there doesn't seem to be much difference from tamiya's., just better detail. some part could've been separate, rather than molded on, like the fuel filler caps on the rear corners. then there wouldn't've been caps oriented the wrong way. I'm guessing the kit tracks are inaccurate, with the bolt on the inner surface. hopefully the trumps on the way will fit the drivers
