This was actually a "semi" completed model from over 20 years ago that I wanted to breath some new life into. Basically it was just put together and overall painted green with steel colored tracks...nothing else. You can still see where I didn't clean up the pieces from back in the day but doing all that didn't seem worth the time. I did have to add the "plumbing" for the external fuel tanks as not having was driving rather crazy I'm actually enjoying re-doing some of my old kits!!!! Enjoy!

I'm no expert on where dust gathers on a T-72 but it looks realistic to me at least.

One thing you might want to consider for the next build though: the grille/net on the engine deck is really a grille/net so it would look better if the "holes" were dark instead of covered with dust.
This will be difficult to achieve if the grille/net is molded as a pattern on a surface. Replacing the net pattern with a real net over s shallow box, black inside, could be one way.

Robin,

Good call on the grille and thanks. I actually have another T-72 (similar circumstance 20 years old not very good originally and want to re-do) that I will give that a try on...just need to get the mine roller for it done....

Thanks again,

Tim

I found these images:

More good stuff here:

Should be possible to replicate. The finer mesh hides most of the details, the coarser net over the "box" at the rear allows more details to be visible.

Robin,

Sorry for the late response and thanks for the pics. I will fix that on the next T-72 I fix up! Thanks.
