Indeed, resin shrinks overtime. I learned the lesson over the years. Very much depends on the quality of resin used. Think that has improved very much lately. The old-fashioned pouring for sure is beaten by the 3D printed resin materials nowadays

Kind regards,

Question: Does resin shrink over time?

Bought a resin cloth top for my Famo some years ago. Tried to install it last night and it is at least an 1/8 of an inch too short in its' long dimension to even begin to fit the halftrack.

It is a beautifully done piece but it is nowhere near fitting the vehicle. Could the maker be that far off or did the piece shrink over time? Cannot tell you just how long it may have sat unused in its' original packaging.

Looking good, Peter!

I've finished basic assembly of my ZiL-130 truck.

Had a lot of work sanding and adding layers to make it look the part.
Next will be initial priming with more sanding and priming till I get it the way I want it.

Otherwise-quite happy with the outcome(SKP-9MV):

Box was scratchbuild

Nice progress, Peter! I hope you will finish this build

Well, just in case I get stalled on it, I am going to do a quick build of this:

Started Sunday and now have it almost together. Only issue is every Stuk 37/L24 round I have from Dragons reloading kit and other spares is too wide to fit in the holes.... I may have to scratch build some rounds from styrene rod and punched disc.

Looking forward to see your participant painted,Passi!
Nice progress,Peter!I hope you will finish this build
I see,Mike! A King is always a King(no matter if it is Ol'Blue Eyes,Elvis or King Tiger).

I'm back to my Resin II project, but stil mainly working on the scratchbuild part(the box).
I intend to finish it this week and start working on the resin ZiL-130 again,

And I'm done.

It came with a resin base, and I added a stained wood base under it.

Reasonably happy with the way the skin came out.

Have uploaded images to the gallery.

Just starting today so these are my entries. I decided to try two at once with the goal of at least completing one figure for a ribbon.

* 1/20 Nutsplanet's "Violet" since the Campaign said that unfinished builds are welcome. I already sanded and primed her and started painting.

* 1/35 Airborne Miniatures's "U.S. Navy SEAL/SF." This is an old figure from Airborne Miniatures that I have in my stash. I intend to improve it using Live-Resin parts, not so much to modernize it as I might still paint it old tri-color Desert Camouflage pattern.

Not quite there yet, but about 99% done. Just a few little details that need painting that I missed.

Started with subassemblies and will start painting quite soon.

This is high quality kit, no fit issues and minimal amount of cleanup required (except tires that join to "sprue" on tread pattern).

Nice start there Iain

Okay, pics of the Puma. Some blemishes, air holes and damage needed fixing. The hatch here was a poor fit and I had to shim the hull opening as the hatch did not cover the edge

Weld bead damage repaired

Fill on the front and the bag of cleaned up wheels.

Hey Angel, sorry to say but construction has stalled on my CV-1 (T202) prewar Command Car. Shot a little bit of OD paint and that is about it! However my reasoning is that I got distracted/inspired by other work on finishing a Konigstiger and maybe a Panther as well.

(Small joke here:)
Around my house all my Tigers are Konigstigers even the Tiger I's!

Best Regards

My Navy SEAL is coming along.

Mostly just the boots and knee pads that haven't been painted, and the body armour and pouches need some detailing.

Looking Great Joseph.

Well I started the Puma the last couple of nights. Removed the road wheels from the pour plugs and cleaned them up. A few air bubbles and some distortion to fix on some of them. Also cleaned up the suspension unit which also had some issues at the pour plug join needing filler.

Heated up the hull components to remove the slight bows in both. Now nice and square all around, clamped together to allow the epoxy to set.

Next job is to clean up the idlers and drive sprockets. One broken section in an idler that will need repair and also on the idler mount where the axle is broken or possible not formed. A little work but nothing major yet.

Hopefully have enough done to be worth pics this weekend.

I've stalled on my Resin II build because of another project, but this is about to change soon-I'm nearing completion of said project and I'll be in a 3 week X-mas leave soon

So I'll be back

Top notch PE work on the BS-3 gun.
While the PTS-M is simply beautifull!

Here is the latest on my entry for this group build. Slow progress but progress none the less. I have completed the build for the BS-3. Although this is a plastic kit, it will be sitting on top of a resin PTS-M.

Here it is after it was primed.

For the resin PTS-M, I have primed the lower half.

Here they are together.

Thanks,

Joseph

Hello all I am going to withdraw from this build as I received a kit of my favorite aircraft. A 1/48 Beechcraft D17 Staggerwing. I want to concentrate on it.

I made the rifle and binoculars sling and also enchanced the highlights on the wrinkles of the uniform slightly, for more faded look:

Cheers!

Thanks! Progress is slow as other obligations (… work, family) keep getting in the way of the important bits in life. TBC. C
