Hi all. Thought I'd give a little update on my getting well soon. Just when you think...hey we are getting somewhere...I can walk again (be it for short distance), my doctors decided on a draw back(they pulled my big toe nail out, just to keep me on the couch for at least another 3 months. Your healing process will benefit from this he said.
So today after one week of pain, healing seems to hurt a lot, I had my second checkup in Bangkok, (location where the did the surgery), another draw back.
Possibly additional surgery, but hey...first we make a CT Scan, due October 18 and after that we will decide.
Well, I hope Christmas 2020 will be a good one.

Kind regards,

Robert Jan

Hi Gentlemen,

I have finished the assembly of the kit, now tracks and sideskirts are on their place. After some filling, sanding and repainting by the glued areas, I have applied the markings and a first protective coat before weathering. It looks way too shiny but I will reapply a more matt-ish coat later. Hope to finish the project before the campaign deadline.

Very nicely built Jerry, as already confirmed others, too. I am looking for the weathering.

Peter and Richard, thank you!

The various lights on this vehicle, I must confess, are SKP‘s lenses and tailights for LMTV/FMTV (162). Anymore I usually indulge in the aftermarket lenses from SKP or Voyager unless the vehicle in question has only tiny convoy lights or something. They don‘t cost much (5-9 Euros) and really look good, I think.

@Jbranca - Thanks for your kind judgement and yes, the MAZ is tiny, but nevertheless you can imagine that beast in reality.
Your HIMARS looks great, I'm looking forward to the weathering

Yeah, that HIMARS looks great! How did you do the lights on the front of the cab. Those are one of my weak areas.

David, love the ISU transmission and looking forward to it coupled with the engine.

Zon, your Aerosan is coming along nicely - it looks like quite a hassle to mask and paint.

Peter, the Tupolev is quite impressive on the runway with the tiny MAZ (two words I would never expect to see together, but in this context....) - very cool!

Anyway, my HIMARS is fully assembled and ready for weathering:

I didn‘t bother taking any pictures of the interior of the cab, because I didn‘t glue the doors into place, but the layers of paint/clear coat have effectively done the same thing, and I don‘t want to risk opening them. Oh well, the cab isn‘t that detailed anyway....

Now let the weathering begin....

Have fun,

Jerry

started to build the engine for the kit, this is the miniart one as the standard trumpeter kit doesn't have one.

David: the tranny looks great!

Small update on my Aerosan: I managed to force the fit to be reasonably decent and proceeded with the rest of the assembly. Primer is next up.

Happy Modeling,

ok so here is my update, sorry i haven't been around much but there are a few issues on the home front at the moment.

so i bought the miniart T34 engine and transmission and i am using the transmission for my ISU 152, so here is my, "ahem" spotlessly clean engine transmission...most of which will be hidden when the vehicle is complete. The last picture is of the transmission bay which is also spotlessly clean lol

Joseph, that‘ll be an impressive-looking beast - looking forward to it!

Jerry

Thanks Jerry. I have started building it and am very close to completing the hull. So far no issues have been encountered. I'll post pictures of the WIP later. The hull alone seems impressive in size even at 1/35th scale.

Tamás, your T-72 looks good in green! Can‘t wait to see the following steps!

Peter, very nice.

Majid, I‘m looking forward to your SA-2/ZiL-157 combination - do you know what markings you‘re going to use?

Gents,

I have painted the model with a mixed green colour (I do not remember the ratio). Next step is to apply a seling coat than assemble the running gear and weathering. I can see the end-of-project now

Hi mates,
after decaling went reasonably well, I call my Blackjack nearly done. Last checks before some satin varnish and maybe a little dirt here and there...
Trumpeter got the starboard blue-and-yellow banner wrong, they forgot to print it mirror-wise
So I got stuck with two identical decals and had to cut the wrong one partly to fix it as good as possible. So the left side view will be the better one.
I'll try to get some good pictures for the gallery soon.

Thx mates,i like this kit.superb kit with details everywhere .

Tamás:i ordered the eduard pe set for this kit but i will not recieved it this month so i must use my other pe part from my stash if necessery

majid.

Hi Majid,

I am sure you have a time-wise plan alreday, but let me explain my method. When Ihave similar late arrival issue (but still within deadline), I usually printout the PE assy docs and check what NOT to use from the plastic stuff (due to the PE).
Then any other is glued and assembled and wait for the extras to arrive.
So I can do some fun before the PE process starts.

It is very dangerous if you are not patient enough
Surely the Eduard stuff will add extreme details and a beautiful look to the final kit

Hi Peter, it is a unique build beside the tracked-wheeled vehicle kits in this campaign. The bird looks really big. Very BIG!

Majid, good choise. Did you consider to use the Eduard photo etch set for the kit? I have it in my stash withe Eduard stuff and I am looking for your build as reference.
