I am going to try and finish a Y-wing, and hopefully it won't end up on the shelf next to my stalled X-wing. This will also attempt a lighting kit. Not planning my painting sequence properly when wiring the X-wing is what has stalled me; trying to figure out some tough areas of masking.

A few pictures of the build, in other words, playing. LOL

Will be pulling it apart to paint after the business trip.

Ordered an airbrush compressor today, should be here next week sometime. At my old house the air compressor was in the garage and was plumbed through the wall into my workshop, no opportunity to do that here. I'll be on the road for another business trip next week so it should arrive about the day I get home.

But, these Bandai Stormtrooper kits may turn out to be addictive. The fit is damn near perfect, comes with 3 different types of blasters in this kit and six hands (three of each side including open, grasping the grip of the blasters, pointing and a clenched fist).

I picked up the TK-421/Luke Skywalker one today at the local Hobby Lobby. The prepainted face is incredible. The different rear portion of the belt with the grapple is included. The kit also comes with shorter "thighs" to make Luke shorter than the typical Stormtrooper.

i managed to get back in the saddle for this one and have now completed his legs and added them to the torso section. his arms are just about done but i haven't be able to take a picture of them yet. I am also working on the skirt thing that he can wear, the original is made of fabric which i tried to paint and failed at so i opted for polyurethane version which i painted white. unfortunately the paint flaked off so i have had to find a thicker version which is white in colour.

Howdy Y'all
I did a little work on the Combat Assault Tanks that come in my U-Wing Fighter kit. I painted the storm troopers, I'm only going to use one but I'll use the better of the two. Ignore the F4U-4 I'm building for another campaign. Sorry about the poor quality of the photo.

Take care,
Don "Lakota"

Hey, gals and guys, if you are willing, please submit your builds as features or even reviews - we need more articles going.

Thank you!

Got some work done on it. so far been an easy build with no problems. but I do see where i'm going to need to do some panting, namily the engine nozzles and the cockpit. I want to try and leave the white plastic unpainted as I kind of like the color.

I've always liked the look of those resistance x-wings, so I'm looking forward to seeing this being built

My pics are up in the gallery. Thanks!
I still have to post a side by side with the old FM Interceptor.

I'm having trouble finding the campaign gallery in the model geek section of the gallery.
It's not in campaigns and the star wars folder is from a older star wars campaign.

Is the gallery not up and running yet?

Mike

Hi mike

I will be setting up the gallery for this campaign in the new year as I'm a bit bogged down at work at the moment what with xmas just around the corner

Thanks and no hurries!
I have the devils own time managing the gallery and photo posting here in general and just wanted to make sure I did not miss anything.
I'm all subscribed here and will put the pictures in when the gallery is up.
Who knows, I might even get another kit built too

that is a great idea (negative space) I can't wait to try this out... thanks - looks great so far!

They worked out great!
The central pane of the front window is a perfect fit. The upper hatch 'flat' ends and the curved outer edges of the front window need cutting, but connecting the existing corners is not too difficult.
If a shakey coffee-addict like me can manage, most anyone else can too.

Unfortunately, I'll be dropping from the campaign. My shop is being emptied and renovated. Maybe next time.

found a lot of time this weekend and finished off the Tie Interceptor. The negative masks from the stickers for the canopy framing worked great.

A little Mig dark wash for weathering and stick a fork in this one, it's done.

But the 'scale' here doesn't match up with the 1/72 Fine Molds Vader Advanced Tie even a little bit.

I've got the Bandai interceptor in the display case, I'll post a pic of the two side by side. The difference is pretty noticable.

All right gents, I'm going in.
Actually the Mount Mansfield Vt Club does a Turkey shoot 4-day start to finish build 'challenge' and I'm double dipping here.

The state of my bench at 9:28am ahead of the invasion of the in-laws and their devil spawn...
Tonight I got started.

The kits got viynl stickers instead of some decals and in the fine tradition of 'there is a fine line between extreme laziness and moderate cleverness' I'm using the negative spaces from sheet to mask the glass.

In a perfect world, I'm done masking now.

2hrs of bench time tonight and the fuselage is built and base coats are on. Waiting for paint to cure now.

Vallejo Air RLM light blue/grey is my go to for Imperial ships. A 'little' more blue than light ghost grey.

ok, so i have completed and painted the torso as well as the groin area and have attached the head so you can get an idea of how is going to look.
