Okay, I got thrown off by the painting issues I was having with the X-wing so instead of the Y-wing I was going to do, I decided to go with the B-wing when my wife got it for me for Fathers Day. It's the Limited Edition, although all that means is a different color scheme and pilot for the most part. I find the other differences unimportant simply glancing at it.

I decided to paint the cockpit interior and the larger exterior parts rather than use all those decals, and at the same time kill some of the sheen of the plastic.

Of course it has engine lights:

Figure is not done, as I am slow painting figures.

Hi all,

I'm currently away on family business at the moment. if I don't get a request to extend the campaign then I will sort out medals next weekend. sorry for the delay but I'm in the middle of serious dose of real life blues at the moment.

Missed this update
These turned out well, very much like the colour and to get three done that is even more impressive

Well, I got Vader's Formation done.

I will probably never try three simultaneously again. LOL

Only real problem with the build was the before mentioned "not mixing enough paint" and then when I pulled the masking off the canopies the Aztec Dummy masks I used left glue residue on the clear. I tried cleaning it off, but both water and diluted Isopropyl had no effect. I didn't want to try straight 91% Isopropyl with uncured paint so close by.

Since this is a secondary build for the campaign I won't be posting this to the gallery.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks Peter.

[quote]I am calling this one done. It ended out a bit more gritty than expected, but overall satisfied. After all these attack speeders fly just above the ground.

Nice finish and I like the ground work as well

The kit is built and base color added. Next is the camouflage - a desert inspired camouflage. It will be made with decals.

Those decals look great, if I had not seen this first I'd have sworn they were stencils. Who makes them?

A little more progress on my snow speeder. The decal camo is on and the pilots are in their seats. Next some detail painting and then weathering.

Thanks David, got the base paint laid on tonight. I'll be giving the oil wash another day or two to dry and then proceed.

Not quite the same shade, but close enough. Did do a light mist over the main bodies to hopefully blend it closer too.

I know what the ratio is supposed to be, 3 parts Intermediate Blue: 1 part Light Gray, hope I can get it close.

Calling R4-NOGO done!!!
Very simply kit to put together, would be great for kids just starting out. Putting a new coat of paint on these Bandai kits really brings them to life

Mix a new batch of paint and lightly spray others as well, they don't all have to look exactly the same. Unbox!!!
