Hi guys. I have no experience with civilian vehicles but I wanted one for a "survivor's" vehicle and it needs to be 1/35 for all the accessories.

I bought a Meng pick up truck, the one with the special forces guy next to it and when I put it together and stood a figure next to it it looks very unimpressive. It seems quite small actually. Not sure if its actually out of scale.

I've gone through my hobby webstore site and they have nothing in 35th scale. Are their kits out there? Doesn't have to be a pick up but a utility vehicle of some kind would be good.

Thanks guys.

"Modern"

"Modern"

Truck, but not a big truck
Late forties - early fifties, maybe a bit too old for your plans. A rusty old wreck brought back to "life" in a survivor scenario could be possible.

Ex military M923-series trucks are being rebuilt to be come survivors RV's ...

Meng also have an F-350 crew cab, a bit larger than the HiLux ...

Lots of possibilities in 1/32. This doesn't even include the two 1/35 German cars I've been trying to sell, or al of the Japanese sedans. The Datsun pickups look particularly good with aftermarket resin wheels.

As 18Bravo mentions above, you'll find a lot of big trucks in 1/32 scale.

Staying at 1/35 there are more options, depending on the era you want:

Tomytec make a very nice Nissan station wagon in a few versions with extra energency lights included. Don't forget about the Meng Hilux and Landcruiser, the Italeri Land Rover. And Balaton make a redmsin Mehari. You might be able to find the old Mig Landcruiser too. Trumpeter's JSDGF jeep can easily double as the civilian version. The Takom VW vans and transporters are readily available. There are several GAZ and Ural trucks and vans around - the emergency response truck would make a great survivor vehicle. Of course there are dozens of staff cars from WWII.
