M109A6 Paladin Stowage Baskets

Hi. I have questions for the stowage baskets on both side on the back of the M109A6 Paladin. What position is it in when traveling and firing ? I google and found pictures in both positions. What can be stored in those baskets ? Thank you in advance.

Usually, the baskets are forward, folded along the sides of the large ammo box at the rear of the turret. They are normally only folded back to reduce the width of the vehicle for rail transport. Anything can be stored in the baskets; personal bags, .50cal ammo cans, net bags, etc., etc...

This is the usual way they are configured.
