M-26 Pershing question

My question is this. On the lower left side of the Pershing's turret, there are two brackets. I seem to remember them as being used for some kind of simple A-frame lift. On the turret top, on the right side, just in front of the commander's cupola, there is what looks like a lifting ring. But I remember it as being the anchor point for the A-frame, or a block & tackle. Can't find any pictures or reference to it on-line. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who knows if my memory is correct as to their reason for being there. And what the purpose was for this arrangement. My guess would be for repair or maintenance of the vehicle by the crew. Al
