I have finished my entry for this campaign. The captured Italian AB43 armored car in German service. I went for a muddy Fall look.

Overall satisfied with the result, but made some learnings especially on how to use and not use the masking putty.

Didn't get round to glossing but did finish the MG and also have a little play with the 2 figures

Thanks guys. Got the fenders and wheels on, the muffler on the back end is on too. Last thing I need to do is just add the louvers on the engine deck. Thing is that you can see quite a bit of the inside of the hull, gonna go in and paint it black first.

well i have been adding more wiring to create handles and the like and the replacement .30 cal barrels have arrived so i have now replaced the resin ones that verlinden give you as the detail on them isn't that great.

Thanks. Figures are still a weak spot for me.

So I heard back, seems the BT is OK if you fellas feel it fits in. So What is everyone else opinion?

I was asked about this via PM and while at first blush this might not seem correct, having given it more thought, I say go for it, would be an interesting twist~!

Reason I say this is, I will be participating in the Tank Destroyer campaign with a Swedish S tank, so the same kindness should be offered here as well. Again, an interesting twist on it!

I think it is a great twist on the theme. I'm happy for you to do it that way.

Haven't heard back about the BT tanks so I'll just put this here for now.....

Hobby Boss BT-2

The turret goes together real quick, a crew member for size comparison.

Basic hull construction is simple, there's even a pe guide for drilling out the hole for the headlights.

Suspension arms and springs

Top of the hull glues on simple, but you want to push down and forward when gluing the front part or you'll get a gap on the "nose". Put a driver, blocked off the space behind him and painted it black.

Placed the headlights and wiring, just need to place some styrene strip where the wiring meets the hull. Steering linkage modified so the wheels are turned to the left.

Hi Peter, yep this verlinden kit has that unique smell alright and this kit has to be at least ten years old lol

I had the same kit - Got it as a special present for helping out in a hobby store when I was a big kid. That’s almost 30 years ago. 🙂 It is old for sure....

I have made some progress with my AB-43. The main scheme is on. Not a 100% satisfied with the pattern. Next time I will paint it freehand with a brush or airbrush. Anyway, now it is ready for weathering.

More to follow 🙂

Nice clean build & paint, will you weather it and fade the paint?
