Today I have spoken to Simon Mepstead to confirm if we are able to have the branch stand at Hinckley 23rd April. Details are being confirmed on Monday and I will get confirmation soon after. There didn't appear to be any sort of problem so I'm assuming that this is a goer until I hear otherwise.

Hi Mal.
I'll be coming straight up to Hinckley after a job in London,so I imagine I might well be there early for a change,,all bleary eyed and weathered.
If this is the case I'll be able to give you a hand to set the stand up if you need one.
Got space for a couple of 1/72 efforts?

I have got confirmation that we have a place at the show Simon is sending me passes which probably means you will need one to get in early. So if you think you might be able to get there early confirm and I can send you a pass. Remember I'm not sure, yet, exactly what the passes are for

I could hang on to it but you wouldn't be able to get in without it (assuming it's a pass for setting up). I'll know more when I get them. Don't worry though just tell 'em you are with IPMS Armorama, I'll let 'em know that as an internet branch we don't physically meet

Ross

P.S. Does anyone know if IPMS/UMS Birmingham is one this year?

I hadn't received any passes but I have managed to speak to Simon Mepstead. If you arrive early i.e for setting up (that is before the event opens) ask for Simon. He is aware and understands we have members coming from across the globe and he will have the passes. There are 4 passes, (normal allocation) and I think that will cover us. If you happen to get there and there are no passes left I don't think it will be a problem as long as you not trying to gate crash
The map on the shop website, for the event is not very clear. The RAC route planner doesn't recognise "Hinckley Leisure" centre, but if you type in "Trinity Vicarage Road" you will get directions that will get you there. In fact, on that road, there is an icon, hover your pointer over it and it tells you it's "Hinckley Leisure"

RAC Route Planner

See you there.

mal, i went to this show last year, and if i remember correctly, the leisure centre is really well signposted as you drive into the centre of town and the leisure centre itself is a big building on a main road (unlike milton keynes :-) ) and is hard to miss
p.s. what is the opening time? i will probably get there roundabout 8 ish
