Greetings all,

Can anyone tell me excatly who or what IPMS is? I'm not very versed on the modelling clubs, societies etc.

I realise it hosts shows/events but what other functions does it provide. What, if any, are the advantages of becoming a member. Is it free? How do you join?

I'm not much on rules and regulations and tend to stay away from organisations and individuals that interfer with my life so maybe it's not for me but I'd like to know a bit more about what it does/is?

I've only looked in on the UK site a few times - what plans are there for it and how will information be cross linked? I like the Big A because of it's international scope and would be reluctant to loose that input so again I'm not sure how much I will use the UK site.

Many thanks

Al

Hi Al and welcome
There is a link to the IPMS UK site at the top of the page, you should get all the info you want there. If it fails to provide you with what you are looking for then post back here and I will try and give you the low down
If by the UK site you mean the Union Jack club then that is just a UK members forum. The UK site is actually a full blown armorama site, ( www.armorama.co.uk ) one of ten languge sites and is almost identical to what you might term the "main site" ( www.armorama.com ). This site is the IPMS ArmoramA UK branch web site, another arm of Armorama.

IPMS, International Plastic Model Society a model club that started in the UK and is, now, world wide.

Hi Matt,

Thanks for that, I hadn't noticed the link before or if I did hadn't checked it out.

Cheers
