well, with a deadline looming its time to get my skates on with this! another little update from my ark royal build, the bridge is finished and painted, and i spent today getting the flight deck and deck markings on. i used tamiya tape to mask the straight lines, and a circle of frisket film cut with a compass cutter. one little oopsie in the first pic this is what happens when you forget to put your needle and spring back in your aztec after cleaning! i thought i had thinned the paint too much the way it blasted out, still no harm done

Nice deck markings Phil and the whole thing is looking good When is the deadline? I can't see me finishing my Firefly unless there is a couple of months left

I had a similar fopar with my airbrush today, I forgot to put the air tip back in, when I pressed the trigger paint was blown back through the colur cup luckily nothing got caught in the flying paint

Is the a Ju 88 I can see in the background?

Well I'm gonna miss the deadline then I love campaigns, I just wish we could have one at a time, then I might just be able to finish something. I must check when the Bombs away campaign ends, I'm now planning on that Dam Buster Lanc and I'll need some time to finish that

Anyway Phil any progress on the Ark?

as it is in the second and third pics is how it is now (at time of posting) it looks like this is the first campaign deadline i'm going to miss! however while there is no extension, gunny is keeping the file open for anyone running over, so i may still bag that ribbon
edit* oops! this campaign ends at the end of june not the start, so i'm still in there

Looking pretty fine so far Phil.
So will you be rigging the swordfish then, you might as well as there is only 6 :-) . I'll send some Valium over :-) .
Can you buy extra aircraft as 12 aircraft are going to look pretty lonely on that big carrier deck ?

i was in half a mind to only use the swordfish, although the deck looks big its seems quite narrow, so i don't want to make it look overcrowded. but as i say, until i start putting aircraft on, i won't really decide what i'll do

Phil that's insane #:-) rigging a swordfish in that scale, even if it is etched brass You just have to do it as it will certainly add alot to the finished floaty thing

Looking good Phil.
Will you be weathering the boat, and have you decided on how many aircraft will be on deck.

Nice one Phil it is looking really good and I'm glad that you will get it finished. Unfurtunately I have no chance with my Firefly, unless there's a 2 month extension

weathering?......... erm, probably not because the kit is such small scale i can probably get away without any. i plan to put 6 swordfish on the deck (although even that few could make the deck look crowded)
