There is a Model Show, to be held at the Dome (Leisure Centre) on the 1st & 2nd of July. I think this is more of an R/C affair but it will attract the general public and it is very local to me. If it were a 1 day show I would be more than happy going along by myself. However there may be a slight complication and I really need someone else to attend with me, let me explain. One of my work collegues has joined the R/C boat club that is putting on the show and he told them that he works for Roundhouse (we build gas fired, steam powered, R/C garden steam engines). They asked teh company if they would attend, but it is hard work to attend a show, which they do several times throughout the year, and another one is not viable. However I thought it might be a great oppertunity to get the branch stand out, in a different environment, and to creat even more interest it is possible to take along a couple of Loco's, probably not any track but a block so they can be steamed up. One of them has a steam whistle which will cause alot of curiosity. Now for me to do this I will need someone else there just so I can leave the stand, if I have to, so the locos are not left unattended as they are worth over 2500.

Any takers?

Mal

hi mal, i think provisionally i could get there, but i do need to check it isnt the weekend i'm off to my sisters house warming (need swambo to remind me when i'm going!) one more thing though this morning i watched a program called model mania where a guy built a loco, and i'm sure he was at round house, with various employees helping him along. if you read this in time the show will be on discovery home and leisure plus at two o clock today

Yep that was a video made at Roundhouse before my time. The Loco's are even better now
I don't have Sky so I've never seen it.
Let me know soonest if you can make the show Phil, no pressure, but I will have to contact them soon.

OK guys, no sweat. I could do the show without the Locos which would get rid of that problem. It might actually be the perfect forum to try out some technique demonstrations?
