Hi all.
After a comment by Jean-Luc over on Aeroscale I couldnt resist building another Sopwith Camel.
He posted this artwork which I tried to reproduce as closely as I could.

The kit is the Revell Sopwith Camel in 1:72,,a bargain at £3.The Tamiya Masking Tape cost more than the kit!
It took me about 3 weeks to do all the masking and spray the stripes. The circular bands were masked with paper masks cut with a compass cutter and dampened to make them stick long enough to spray.
The rigging was actually the easy bit!,,Never thought Id say that!!!
Enjoy the Pics.

Nige,

This is superb. Well done. Is it 1/72? Is that a new cow pat too? Looks more in tune with the aircraft. It does not swamp and make the Camel the centre of attention, as it should be.

hi nigel- i write this just after our chat on thursday afternoon so you know i think this model is a really nicely done job, however one little thing i've noticed is that the boss in the middle of the prop is still the same colour as the wooden part, but all it needs is painting in the same metallic as you've used on the guns. i'm sure this will do very well in the M.O.M.
and i take it it will make an appearance at telford?

Cheers Guys!
This was certainly a lot of fun and an exercise in extreme masking!
Ross,,,yep,,its 1:72.
Phil,,,I wasnt sure about the propellor boss so i gave it a wash to bring the detail out.I'll probably drybrush it in gunmetal when I get chance as well.
Mal,,yes,,Im really hoping it does well in MoM.It would make a great Harricature!
I'll be bringing it to Telford

Nice one mate.
I am glad i got to share this build with you during the last 3 weeks. From conception to the finished project it has been a joy to watch it come together.
Can't wait to see the "Harricature" of this (it will win). I'm sure Harri will be pleased :-) .
