Just got home from 2 two days at Scale Model World.
Feet are killing me and my wallet is empty, but the feet are now on the coffee table and Ive picked up some great goodies!
The stand looked fabulous, and it was great to meet up with friends old and new. Great to see Staff Jim make the trip over from the USA!
What did everybody think?
A big hello if your reading this after learning about the site from one of the many flyers that were handed out over the weekend. Enjoy the site and dont forget to sign up and join in the fun!

Hello

I was there both days and it was good to put some faces to names. It was my first model show for about 20 years so I enjoyed it, although the wallet did suffer.

I took some pics, which you can see at:
pics

I haven't sorted them, so there will still be some fuzzy ones in there.

Brilliant , apart from taking 5 hours to get home .
Myself and Courtney thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Even though i spent a small fortune (and not just on kits :-) ), it was great to put names to faces and have a chat.
Nice meeting Jim and seeing the great man in the flesh that brought us all together in the first place.
I would like to thank Derek (Commandpost) for entertaining Courtney for both days, and from stopping her spending any more of my money :-) .
And thanks to everyone who worked at getting the stand and the Internet connection up and running, i think our stand was the best looking one at the show.
Roll on next year .

Hello all,
I had a great time on Saturday and it was good to meet some of you guys for the first time and reaquaint with others.
It was the first time I have only been there for a day and I ached on Saturday night when I got home, there really is too much to see on one day.
The stand looked great which is a credit to all of those involved with the organisation of it all, and it gave any of the uninitiated a great impression of the site and club!
Can't wait until next year!! See you then if not before

I was too nackered to post after getting home, although I didn't have a megga drive, just about 2 hours, I didn't get very much sleep over the 2 days. However I thoroughly enjoyed it and meeting you all was great, whether it was for the first time or again. We have a few more signing up to the kitmaker network, the IPMS and our branch. So lookout for new "faces" and particularly those that might be posting in the Novice forums, who may be some of Samantha's cadets. I had a great chat with Paul who signed up on the day, more on this in the "branch meeting" thread, later
I didn't spend too much but I got what I wanted, Colourcoates paint, 33 tins I suppose that I have no excuses now for not getting on with those models that I didn't have the paint for. Again I was mostly inspired by Keith's magic dioramas and I really do intend to have a go. I also think that we should all have a go at the "Wacky Races" build (if you saw the Walace and Gromitt, stuff you will know what I mean). Again more in the branch meeting.
Thanks for a great day everyone

Hello all,

Well it's now Monday and I had a great time. Good to meet upp with Mal as we're both ex-Sappers we had a lot in common. Good to meet 'Staff' Jim and I hope we will see some pictures from the show.
I picked up everything I wanted plus a few other bits.

Good to see that Azimut had copious amounts of the 234/1 and of the DML Firefly (Expo 06) at less than UK list price.
Lou Stenner models were very friendly as ever and it was good to see the manufacturers doing a good trade.

My wallet is lighter and I'm planning my next visit...best save my pennies.

Regards to all & Ubique!

Brian

It was nice to meet an other ex-sapper, well not ex really, once a sapper always a sapper. Good to see you here Brian and I hope we see more of you. I hope that you will be able to get to more shows, there's one held in the RE museum, which I hope to get to next year. Don't be a stranger

Hi All,
What a great week end! Nice to meet up with you guys & put faces to names. Pity I could not have spent more time at the stand but as chairman of IPMS Cleveland, other duties took rank! But as I am standing down next year, I hope to spend more time at the stand next time at 'other' shows. Any plans for the next meet up?
Well, Bolton club is putting a show on in January, then Huddlesfield so any taker's!
Once again, great time, great people, roll on next year
Regards
Fazer (Mark)

It was a pleasure to speak to you lewis and I hope that we get to meet at more shows. I'm talking to Samantha about getting over to Grimsby so I might be able to do some demonstrations and I can bring some of my in progress models as well.
