The cockpit
The kit has two options for the instrument panel. There is a clear version where you mask off the dial glass and place a decal with the dials on behind (Tamiya like) or there is a grey plastic option on which you will need to paint the dial detail or add instrument decals. Behind the cockpit sits the radio rack; the instructions tell you to add the antenna at this stage but leave it off until the end to avoid breaking it off as I did.

The cockpit attaches to a firewall and fuel tank which also gives you a mounting point for the engine. The detail is all there, so now is the decision of how you are going to display it. Do you paint all this detail or will it be hidden under closed panels as mine is.
The engine
Its a thing of beauty with complex parts and great instructions to get you there. The tolerances are very tight, so dry fit and think about the steps ahead. The cowl flaps can be opened or closed. This kit would look lovely with a detailed engine showing, but I have it all buried.

Beautiful build, great job! Apart from the white markings at the back end, it might be worth masking and painting the main markings to avoid the thick decal issue you encountered. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Joe, and so much detail on your build progress. Cheers, D

Really nice. Did you use the extra PE set or weighted tires?
