In-Box Review
Radio Shack Nippy Cutters

by: Mike Still [ MODELCITIZEN62 ]

Cheap yet pretty effective

The spring-loaded 5" Nippy Cutters are usually tucked away at Radio Shack on the same shelf with the soldering irons, hemostats and precision scredrivers. They make clean. close cuts when removing kit parts from sprues, requiring only a bit of trimming or a quick pass with a sanding stick to finish off the job.

I'd recommend keeping one pair for plastic-only use.

They may not be Xurons, but they do the job. Also a great stocking stuffer for the young modeler in your life, to show them that you take their interest seriously.

SUMMARY
Not able to get a mortgage to buy a set of Xuron sprue cutters? Already have a mortgage on one pair and want something cheaper for your traveling tool case. Well, another example of how Radio Shack has more to offer the modeler than really thin copper wire for cockpit and landing gear details . . ..
