The Weathering Magazine has been publishing some great issues, and the latest is no different. The latest issue covers German equipment in the final year of the war.
The magazine, The Weathering Magazine 1945 is very well printed on glossy paper, with clear printed text, and well executed images. The magazine contains multiple articles on painting and weathering, including armor, aircraft, and figures. The issue even contains a good looking article for war gamers with an article on painting and weathering Flames of War vehicles and figures. It should be noted that the magazine while covering mainly armor, shows techniques that can be used across modeling.
The articles in this issue include:
The Peoples Fighter covering the painting of a He162. This article shows great use of metallic paints for the engine and painting of a wood grain.
Waffentrager cover good looking use of painting and camouflage of a German Paper Panzer. The article goes into great detail on the camouflage and especially weathering, with great examples of chipping.
For Whom the Bell Tolls building a diorama featuring a SU-76 tank and figures. There is plenty here for diorama builders, including the scratch building of a war torn structure. While there a little information on the work on the SU-76, there is great information on painting and weathering a diorama, including adding that extra detail.
Der Fόhrer a good article for figure painters. This story covers great information on painting a figure, including the use of highlights and shadows.
Enjoy the War another great story on building the Tamiya Jagdpanzer. The article includes an interesting camouflage and shows some great weathering techniques. Also includes steps for building a small base with a wall to show of the finished tank.
Defending the Reich camouflage and weathering of the big Trumpeter 1/32 Bf-109G-10. Again great techniques in painting and weathering that can be used across modeling.
Heavy Weight Hunter the painting and weathering of the big concept tank destroyer the E-100. The article includes the use of pre-shading with more great tips on painting and weathering.
Focke Wulf FW 190D-9 more painting and weathering of one my favorite World War 2 German fighters.
Flames of Weathering a little article on weathering small game pieces from the game Flames of War. These are quick techniques good for general use.
While the magazine is published by Ammo by Mig, the magazine does not focus on the Ammo by Mig paint line and weathering products. The magazine does a good job of showing use of other brand products. The techniques shown are very informative, and reader could learn some new information for their projects.
The latest issue of The Weathering Magazine from Ammo by Mig is another great read. The magazine includes some great articles on painting and weather, and I am sure something for every reader. The text is well written and the images are great. I highly recommend adding this issue to your reading list.
Highs: Great clear written articles, great images, some more great techniques.Lows: N/AVerdict: Highly recommended addition to your reading list.
