Ok, so you didn't want to drop $1,200 on the 1/35th scale U-boat from Andrea. You didn't want to drop $300 on the conning tower section. That's OK, Andrea leaves yet another U-boat option for you -- a 1/10th scale bust of a U-boat commander during World War Two.

The kit is a simple five pieces: A resin torso with the head attached, a resin hat, resin base, a white metal set of binoculars and a metal Iron Cross.Molding is super with no mold seams showing and no flash whatsoever. The sculpting is top-notch and really looks nice. The binocular strap is molded as part of the main bust.The hat is well done with crisp details and fits the head perfectly.The rest is up to the painter.

My only concern with this kit is the $55 (USD) price. Yeah, it is excellent piece of work, but may be a little overpriced in my book. I had the Coree U-boat bust but never built it, but for about half the cost I think you got a figure that was as nice. The Verlinden figure also looks nice, but I stay away from their busts because the teeth never look right.Why did I get this kit? Well, I really like the look of it and compared to other busts it seemed like the cream of the crop -- even at a steep fee.
