New from Warriors is their 1/6 scale bust #WA6007 US Civil War Seaman sculpted by Bob Davis (not Bob Tavis as indicated on the box art). This is a one piece casting in creamy white resin. There were no air bubbles visible in my example. It comes packed in a zip lock bag in a good sized box with an adequate amount of Styrofoam peanuts to protect it. There are no sharp or thin edges that were in danger of being broken off. The box art, a single photo of the painted bust, is the only painting guide.
I measured the eyes using a compass and found them to be identical on both sides. Using a low contrast photo, #1, I used my photo editor to determine the face was symmetrical.
In higher contrast lighting, one can see the face presents some good character and a nice palette for the artist to work with. #2. The profile, too, #3 shows good character.
A close up of the scarf/tie shoes the quality of the folds sculpted by Mr. Davis. # 4/ Also visible here ix the moustache texture and the stitch work on front of the shirt.
There is no plinth on which to mount the bust, so the painter is on his or her own to choose one. The pour plug is nice and small at the base of the bust and should present no problem in removal.
Unfortunately, my example had a major mold misalignment from the base of the hat to pour plug. This will take some serious and careful carving to eliminate as it passes through the hair and over the back of the bust. This is the only flaw in an otherwise excellent casting.
SUMMARY
Highs: Great character and textures.Lows: Nasty misalignment from the hat to the pour plug.Verdict: A very nicely sculpted and textured bust with loads of character.

Nice review Al, thanks for taking the time. You miscredited the sculptor though. It should be Bob Davis. He's a very talented fellow in Tulsa. I'm glad to see he got this one produced. It is the nicest of the three busts he did together.
John, to paraphrase the Bard (poorly) "The fault is in Warriors and not in ourselves." Click on the box art picture and you'll see Bob Tavis credited as scuptor. The same is true of their GI wearing a Cap that I reviewed for the site. Hopefully Warriors will issue new box art withthe correct accreditation.
