Africa Korps Foreign Volunteers

There are two figures in this kit; both are members of the DAK or Deutsch Afrika Korps, Indian volunteers that served in North Africa campaign. These two figures are in a standing, relaxed pose and only one of them has a machine gun whilst the officer type has a sidearm and wearing a turban. One is holding his machine gun, whilst the officer is drinking from a small cup from the other fellowís water supply.

These two figures have been manufactured in pale yellow resin, and have no errors in their casting that I can see, no air bubbles, broken sections or mould seams. I had ordered these through the Historex website and they didnít take long to arrive.

Proís & Conís
These figures by Verlinden are great and they are cast to an exceptional standard I didnít have any problems assembling them. This again would add to a diorama or be useful in a grander scheme, I plan to use mine in the under the sun campaign and I dare say you will be seeing the results in a few weeks. Despite the fact that these figures have only been released, I feel that they will be around for sometime to come since no one out there seems keen to produce large numbers of Afrika Korp figures. You also find it easier too model other figures, simply by changing their heads with some after market products.

The down side is that there are no instructions with this kit so you need to do some research regarding the placement of some of the soldiers person affects when you set them in position at the rear of the figures. There is only the picture on the box to go on, as to how these figures should be painted. There is no guide as to how you should deal with the rear of the figures. It is also rather expensive set for what you actually get which is only two figures and I feel that Verlinden maybe pricing themselves out of the market especially when you have to add on postage and packing.
These figures by Verlinden are great and they are cast to an exceptional standard with no problems assembling them.
