Wow! speak about detail. These little bits of brass and photo-etch are not unlike jewelry and come packaged in a typical Aber photo-etch type plastic sleeve with a black piece of card stock to add strength. The sleeve includes two brass MG 34 barrel pieces with the flame suppressors, two brass barrel shrouds with the cooling holes, two small frets of photo-etch with anti-aircraft sight and fittings, and a sheet of instructions.

The idea is to adapt this barrel and shroud to an existing MG34 from a plastic kit. The upgrade is achieved by removing the plastic barrel, drilling a .5mm diameter hole, and insert the brass barrel. I can see this being used in a vignette with a 1:35 machine gunner figure where such fine detail won't be lost against a larger diorama or as a detail upgrade on a heavily detailed AFV. If you attempt the anti-aircraft sight and fittings, be prepared for some very tiny pieces of photo-etch.

Anything this delicate should be packaged in something other than a plastic sleeve/bag. Even with the piece of card stock one of the barrels got crossed with a barrel shroud in transit and both pieces were slightly bent. With that aside, the level of detail achieved is superb and this will make for an excellent detail upgrade item for the modeler looking for that little extra something for a dio or AFV project.
Highs: Immaculate detail. Really adds 'life' to the plastic MG34's found in most German tank and figure kits.
Lows: Packaging may result in damage during transit/shipping.
Verdict: Fantastic detail piece. For that special Panzer model where no expense is being withheld on detail.
