What’s in the Packet
Seven yellow pieces of wonderfully well cast resin that you come to expect from the house of Verlinden. This may be an older kit that you can’t get hold of but it is still a joy to see when you get one, it makes you appreciate the large number of Vietnam era figures that Verlinden produced before they started to cut them back. Alas this was one of many that fell by the wayside.
Quality
Remarkable casting, no errors, flaws, air bubbles, mould lines or seams that can be found on some other kits. The simplicity of this kit is wonderful and a dream to put together, I used very little in the way of Revell putty on this one, only at the shoulders and it was used sparingly.
Pros & Cons
The good points the casting and detail of this figure. The design of this kit sets the figure in a rear area, as he isn’t carrying much in the way of equipment, just a side arm. He can be used in a stand-alone vignette or again part of a much larger scheme.
The down side is that this kit has been removed from the Verlinden catalogue and may be hard to find. It was given to me as a gift from a friend who was having clear out of kits he knew he wouldn’t have time to build. I don’t know what the cost of this kit would be either but I am guessing if they did bring it back you would probably have to pay somewhere around the £8 mark.
