ďMy name is Jesus Martin, owner of Nocturna models. First of all, I want to
thank you about your interest in my figures.
I am the responsible in every design of the figures. Usually, the idea is
more important than the exact concept. I know a group of sculptors and I
think that there is one appropriate person for each figure, and this time
the person was Pedro Fernandez.
I was thinking about one figure very extreme, more fantastic than other
models, something similar to video gaming. The idea was a person keeping a
place in some dark style, dressed like a fantastic gladiator.
I made a scratch for the pose, but finally Pedro thought that the figure
must be in a static position. He thought that the man should be older an
he started to work in super sculpey grey, and the result is the figure you

The Kit

The figure comes in a plastic flip top bubble container, with only a card sporting a painted version of the figure. The contents were loose, and no sponge foam to keep them from rattling around. Perhaps they will change this one day, but until then I can see the possibility of parts being damaged, though none were present on my copy.

The kit comes in 6 parts. The main body, small square base, a sword, sheath, left arm half, and a scythe? His hands are molded onto the sword and scythe, so youíre a bit limited there if you donít want to use either.

What can I say, but wow! When I first picked this figure up at a model show, I just could not believe how detailed it was. The head sculpt is unbelievable. Pedro captured even the smallest details, right down to the tiny wrinkles around his eye, even a scar across his face. The outfit as well, itís all in there. Details on the armor, O-rings on the straps from the sword sheath. All very crisp and clean. There is just a small amount of flashing on his shredded leggings here and there. There is a slight mold seam on each side, almost invisible in some spots, and wouldnít take much from a blade to remove them. The weapons are all just as detailed. The base is merely a small resin square with cracked stone tiles for details. Itís a little warped as well, curling up on the edge slightly. I wouldíve like to have seen a better base provided, though Iím sure it would make the cost of the figure go up, so its not a deal breaker by any means.

This is one figure Iím very happy I purchased. The details are stunning and the casting is excellent. For the price, compared to metal figures of the same scale, you canít beat it. I certainly look forward to painting this one, and hope to obtain more from Nocturna.
Highs: Crisp clean details to the extreme. Excellent casting. Great price.
Lows: Packaging could be better, no foam or material to protect the parts. Base is warped and very small.
Verdict: Other than the lows mentioned above, the figure itself is outstanding. Details are just too amazing to pass on this figure.
