introduction
Evolution Miniatures is producing 1/35 scale high quality resin figures representing the soldiers of different nations from different periods. One of their latest release -
EM-35030 Soviet Tankmen,WW 2 is a two-figure kit including Soviet tankers fighting outside of their vehicle with handguns.
box
The kit comes well packed in standard Evolution Miniatures 70x100x35 mm hard cardboard box . The front part of the box shows a photo of the figures painted by
Maxim Veretelnikov which can serve as a painting guide.
Inside the box, the parts are represented with the casting blocks. The two main parts-bodies and other parts of the figures are seperately inserted in small plastic zip-lock bags to avoid unexpected damages during transfer.
parts
The figures are sculpted by
Sergey Traviansky - Menelay and cast in 12 grey resin parts in crisp details.
Body parts are cast as single pieces. Heads, arms, hands with guns and holsters are given as seperate parts. One of the figures is posed kneeling to fire his pistol by putting his left knee on the ground and other figure is posed getting ready to fire in standing pose. Position of the figures allow modeler to display them on the ground next to a Soviet tank or over the vehicle next to the turret. Both of the tankers wear slate-grey or black color one-piece coverall, worn over the standard army uniform gymnastiorka - tunic and sharovari - trousers. Coveralls have pads on knees and elbows to provide extra protection. No insignia or shoulder straps are worn on the coveralls. They came in different patterns, some with two breast pockets, some with a slit pocket over the right breast and most had a lap pocket over the right leg. Standard army belt is carried on the waist to carry the holster. Both of the figures has black long leather boots. Cloth folds of coveralls and small details like gloves inserted to belt and torn part on knee are well represented.
Heads show very nice facial details. Both of them wear three-line padded canvas Tanker helmet with expandable earphone pockets under the side protection flaps. Helmet details are absolutely excellent.
Arms show nice cloth folds and note that correct posing of the arms is important as the hands holding guns are given as seperate parts so dryfit and careful assembly will be needed.
Hands with revolvers – Both hands of the figures are cast as single parts posed to hold the guns. One of the figures carry a Nagant and the other has a Tokarev TT-30.
Holsters – Suitable to the guns at hands, a Nagant and a Tokarev holsters are given as seperate parts. As the holsters of the Soviet Army can be leather, synthetic leather or canvas, they can be painted in many colors.
conclusion
Very nice kit with two nice posed figures. Ease on assembly with less parts, nice sculpt and high quality cast.
Very highly recommended
