Guys, I just went to STC Festival Mall (this evening) and I noticed that they lowered to price of 1:35 Dragon figures from the PhP 270 to Php 189. The last time I was there I told the sales lady that their price is very high compared to Accurate and Lil's...I don't know if she told the owner coz now the price is lower but still higher by Php 20 compared to the Lil's.

The only advantage of buying from STC is that there are a lot of choices....

TAMIYA factory for AFV,etc is located in CEPZA (Cebu export Processing Zone). Actually, the tamiya models here are cheaper than in the US. The King Tiger (Ardennes Front) is sold for PhP 1,280 (Lil's) but in the US I saw in the October 2002 issue of FineScale it costs around $50 (exclusive of tax).

Any of you noticed that the DML is cheaper in Lil's and Accurate Model (SM SouthMall) than in STC. In Lil's they cost around 108 and Accurate is selling them for 168, but in STC it is a whooping 270. I told the sales lady about the price difference...medyo na-shock siya.

Nga pala, iba na ang pangalan ng Richie Ritz(?)...and they are selling auto supply -- but I still saw some scale models of Cars sa window (display lang yata).

a friend of mine who used to work in CEPZA told me na minsan may time na nag sa-sale sa Tamiya/Timex and other companies ....(must be rejects or bagsak sa QC) so if you guys have relatives or friends in Cebu.. try to arrange something with them..

Meron din akong Jeep na ganito. Ok naman sya tingnan after ma-assemble na. If I'm not mistaken ito yung one of the kits na direct copy ng Academy from Tamiya kits. Yung Israeli version is a new mold kaya medyo may kamahalan. Get one if you'd like to practice camo or weathering. Di naman sya masakit kung masira. You can paint it up as a Philippine Army Jeep.

These aren't bootleg, mind you. Although the instruction sheet is Thai, I reckon these were "Made in the Philippines" because when I first saw these epochs ago and inquired the shop keeper why the low price, they said because Academy had already started churning these out from their Philippine plant, hence the price. Either that or they're really dirt cheap even when imported from Thailand.

The detail is ok. I had fun with it. Very cute small bugger and easy to build. The TOW missile was not bad IMO. Along with the TOW carrier were 4 other figures plus a 120mm mortar. I reckon the P300+ jeeps you saw were Skybow jeeps at JMN.

I remember 1 na lang sya sa shop eh. Tignan mo kung nabili na sya. Either way, kahit na bootleg sya, pwede naman for practice eh. Besides, for P75, di ka rin naman iiyak kung masira man yang ganyang kits.

They have several branches, I'll try to look for their calling card, I got one from them last time I visited their Glorietta Branch. As far as I can remember they have branches in the following places: Glorietta, Greenhills and Robinsons Galleria, there used to be one inside UM, pero nalugi ata eh. IIRC, one of the proprietors, or could be tambay's was an officer in the DLSU-ROTC, hehe not that this has anything to do with anything, actually.

The one in Glorietta can be found sa may Red Lane, it's where Music One used to be in - basta it's on the other side where Gold's Gym is located, which is in front of Hard Rock? The one in Galleria can be found on the top floor, IIRC, near the Gary Lising shop, near Pancake house? or is it the other side? Sa Greenhills naman, go to Virra Mall, look for Astrovision (it's on the second floor IIRC) it's very near Astrovision.

Neutral Grounds specializes in Warhammer, and other "Table-top-Gaming" toys and hobby-items. They've a pretty nice selection of brushes if you're interested, paints and some scenic modelling supplies are available. But the prices they charge are quite hefty compared to other available brands. If you're into figure-collecting, their Pewter-pieces are miniatures to marvel at, but again these come at a price.

:-) I saw this store before in Glorietta on the third floor w/ lots of display aircraft, armor & ship models mostly Tamiya & they're also selling models, then nawala na yung display nilang models.
