Glad that you mentioned Fred Cajulis. That guy knows what modellers want. I frequent his shop till it closed due to personal reasons. He had to mind the family business when his dad died. I got a lot of chota sahib figures from him but sometimes because he is also a modeller he'd rather keep some of his stock than sell them cause he liked them. It was a good shop while it lasted. Same with your shop EG.

Try art shops - National Bookstore, hobby shops listed in this thread and some architectural shops (Joli's and the like).

national bookstore have badger airbrush (4t-6t) and some cheap airbrush worth around 1,200 pesos. if you are near manila area you better try M.Enriquez art supplies at #1541 CM Recto ave. sila ang distributor ng badger airbrush dito sa atin. Han's tools in shangri-la plaza also have badger. Lil's hobby shop have Tamiya-Iwata brand. then wala na akong alam kung saan pa meron hehe =)

Hello, I'm just starting out sa scale modelling and everyone I encounter says that I should buy an airbrush kit. But here's my problem:

1) How much is an airbrush kit complete with regulator? I don't want anything fancy, just something that works fine.

2) Where can I buy them? Specific stores?

3) Or is anyone here selling their airbrush kit w/ regulator? Thanks.

Hi Peter,

1) It depends on what kind of airbrush and setup you like. A basic setup would be an airbrush, water trap, and air compressor. Depending on the airbrush and air compressor, it could cost as cheap as P5,000 to more than P10,000.

The cheapest I think would be getting Tamiya's Sprayworks airbrush and aircompressor. I think it retails at P5,000.00, maybe even less. It has a compact air compressor and a very basic airbrush.

Another cheap airbrush is the Gunze Pro-Spray series, the most basic and cheapest would be the Pro-Spray Mk1. It doesn't come with an aircompressor, but the set I bought years ago had a can of compressed air, two bottles, and some other tools. Back then, I got it for under P2,000.00 I think.

Ace Hardware sells some very cheap airbrushes at P500.00 but be warned: you are better off buying something more expensive than these "airbrushes." I bought one and I was sorely disappointed.

A nice air compressor is the Kawasaki aircomp (exact model I dunno) which is small, not too loud, and has a decent PSI rating. It costs P3,000.00+.


2) You can buy some airbrushes at National Bookstore (usually Badger airbrushes - the Model 175 Crescendo costs P7,000.00+ and up depending on the set you buy), STC (usually Gunze airbrushes), Lils (usually Tamiya airbrushes), JMN and Hobbies n' Comics (Tamiya Sprayworks). Lils sells several models of Tamiya's airbrush line including (most importantly) spare parts to fix your airbrush if it eventually breaks. They also sell the Sprayworks set, the aircompressor can be used for other Tamiya airbrushes. STC sells compressed air cans and Gunze air compressors (very expensive the latter IMO). You can buy air compressors at Ace Hardware, True Value or similar hardware shops. As mentioned, Ace sells P500.00 airbrushes but I'd rather suggest you stay away from them el cheapo-but-wasteful ones.


3) From time to time, some modelers sell their complete set for one reason or the other. Over at the IPMS-Philippines discussion board (http://ipmsphilippines.proboards32.com/index.cgi) there is a Bargain Bin section where some people post the stuff they are selling, including airbrushes and aircompressors. Check out also eBay Philippines and similar websites, or Buy&Sell classified ads paper.

Sir, go to the original Lil's Store in first floor Quad Carpark. I get my paints there. Isang "the FORT bus" ride from Market! Market! tapos cross over to SM Makati. Lapit na yun. Paints are a few pesos cheaper, para konting bawi sa bus ride mo. Keep building!

hi mike. I have not heard of any shops here distributing Iwata Airbrushes. The closest thing to it are Procon boy(Special Toy Center) and Tamiya Airbrush(Lil's)line. I've heard that these two products are made by Iwata for these companies.
